This procedure is indicated for evaluation of abnormal bleeding, abnormal endometrial biopsy, or abnormally thickened endometrial lining noted on a previous sonogram.

What should I expect?

A speculum is placed in the vagina and a small catheter is inserted through the cervix. After a small amount of saline is injected through the catheter, endovaginal images of the endometrium are produced.

How do I prepare?

Premenopausal patients are scanned optimally on days 8-12 of their cycle. A pregnancy test should be taken the day prior as per instructions during your appointment scheduling.

When will I get the results?

Results are usually sent to your referring physician 48 hours after your exam.
