Dr. Igor MikityanskyWindsong Neuroradiologist, Igor Mikityansky, MD, was recently published in the November 2012 edition of the clinical review journal Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America. Dr. Mikityansky was the lead author of the article titled, “MR Imaging of the Brachial Plexus.” Dr. Mikityansky’s published work is based on his presentation at the Neuroradiology Review at the Rittenhouse Conference in Philadelphia in October of 2010 sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania. The clinical review is a result of his collaboration with the Chief of Neurosurgery at University of Pennsylvania and professors of radiology at Johns Hopkins University and University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Mikityansky came to Windsong in July of 2010 as a fellowship trained neuroradiologist after working as a junior faculty member at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. “Windsong and Western New York is fortunate to have Dr. Mikityansky join our staff bringing his skills as a clinician in neuroradiology as well as his Strong academic credentials,” according to Thomas A. Summers, MD, President of Windsong.

Dr. Mikityansky states, “This review article is especially relevant to neurosurgeons, spine surgeons, and radiologists who interpret MRI brachial plexus images. Local neurosurgeons and spine surgeons commented that they had found this article very useful in their practice.”

Dr. Mikityansky performs interventional pain management procedures in addition to his full schedule of reading neuro studies at Windsong. Dr. Mikityansky was also a contributing author of the chapter titled “Radiologic Imaging of the Paranasal Sinuses and Skull Base” in a medical reference text, “Rhinology: Diseases of the Noses, Sinuses, and Skull Base.”
