Windsong, PC welcomes Dr. Laura Sternick to Windsong’s neuroradiology division. Dr. Sternick joined Windsong this July after completing her Neuroradiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard University. As a native of Utica, NY, Dr. Sternick is excited to be moving back to upstate New York. Prior to completing her fellowship, she attended Dartmouth College, and then Feinberg School of Medicine/Northwestern University for Medical School. She completed an intern year and residency at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University. Dr. Sternick’s special interests are in neuroradiology, vascular imaging, body imaging.
Dr. Sternick shared her reason for selecting radiology as a specialty. She says, “Growing up, I loved biology and knew I would pursue a career in the sciences. In college, I took a course on Human Immunology, which was fascinating. Between that course and my experiences volunteering at local hospitals, I found that I really enjoyed both medical science and patient care. I chose radiology because of its unique position within medicine at the forefront of diagnosis and problem-solving and its essential role in patient care.
“The addition of Dr. Sternick builds on our strong neuroradiology division led by Dr. Igor Mikityansky,” said Dr. Thomas Summers, President of Windsong. “Her expertise will allow us to further support our partners in neurosurgery throughout Western New York with our vast array of both routine and advanced neuro exams,” he added.
Advanced neuroradiology exams offered at Windsong include NPH with aqueduct CFS FLOW, CHIARI protocol with CSF CINE, MR spectroscopy, Cholesteatoma protocol, and Brachial Plexus, as well as MRA and Nerve Studies.
