About Dr. Rubin:  Since Dr. Rubin’s fellowship training, musculoskeletal imaging remains his primary interest. In the past few years, there has been a growing role for musculoskeletal ultrasound in patient care and he has been working on getting more and more involved in that area. During his tenure at Windsong, he has developed a large experience in oncologic imaging and has been fortunate to gain expertise in PET/CT scanning. This area has come a long way in a short time period and has potential to have a much greater impact in future years as the technology behind hybrid imaging continues to grow and newer tracers continue to make their way into the clinical environment. Many of these tracers, and many more that have been developed in laboratories all over the world have the potential to become important biomarkers in cancer and other disease areas. They may enable further understanding about cancer cell biology as well as the role of our immune system in fighting cancer, infection and other threats to our existence and well being.

“I come from a family of three generations of doctors. My siblings are all physicians. So were my father and grandfather. My father strongly encouraged his children to become doctors. He often felt that there were two professions, Medicine and everything else. I have no regrets over the years of my past career decisions. I believe I chose a profession that allows me to help people and earn a living to support a family at the same time. I also enjoy learning new things on a daily basis. I realize that being a good doctor is the same as being both a good student and good teacher.”
