Job Title: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Acts as an extension of the radiologist and manages the daily workflow of the Interventional Clinic and procedures. Performs general image guided procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. Performs patient consultations and required follow up care. Communicates with referring physician offices, nurses and technologists. Assists with Peer to Peer review process for Interventional Radiology.
Performs image-guided studies and procedures under the supervision of the radiologist.Organizes and builds the Interventional Radiology Clinic.Manages the workflow of the IR Clinic.Perform patient consultations and pre procedure evaluations, to assist and coordinate patient care.Prepares patient for procedures for the radiologist to perform.Responsible for productivity evaluation record keeping and ongoing quality control of procedures performed, including case review records.Performs all procedures using correct techniques as approved by the radiologist.Maintain current levels of education in emerging techniques, procedures and therapiesMaintains values congruent with the Code of Ethics, as well as adhering to national, institutional and/or departmental standards, policies, and procedures regarding the standards of care for patients.Attends educational events and ‘Lunch & Learns’ to educate medical providers about Interventional Radiology procedures.All other temporary and/or permanent duties as assigned by Administrator or Manager.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in related field.Maintain NCCPA certification, NYS License and any related continuing education requirements, or current and valid Registered Professional New York State licensure with a Masters Degree in the respective advanced nursing specialty, and current certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or equivalent. Maintain BLS and ACLSExcellent technical skills.Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel, technical staff, referring office staff as well as the radiologist.Ability to evaluate images that pertain to specific procedures.Skilled knowledge to produce high quality reports and patient documentation.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to professionally communicate orally and in the written form.Basic Lifting as required, not to exceed 35 pounds.Must be able to stand; sit; walk for extended periods of time with the ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays as well as ability to work additional hours as needed.
Position is in a well-lighted, fast-paced, clean medical office environment.
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the essential job functions such as stationary, mobility, operating machinery, convey and exchange information, identify, observe and /or positioning of patients.
Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines/equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line phones, photocopiers, fax systems and calculators.
