Program Description: This 8 month clinical and didactic program includes stipend with benefits. Upon successful completion, students will be ARRT registry-eligible for MR Certification.
NYS registered Radiologic Tech or Certified Nuclear Med Tech
Current Red Cross CPR Certification
Pass MRI safety screening to allow entry into the magnet room
8 month fulltime commitment to program: August to April
Flexible schedule to enable working Variable shifts
Complete 16 ARRT required RCCME prior to or within first month of the program to fulfill certification requirement
Curriculum: DIDACTIC with ongoing Clinical Shadowing and Instruction
Beginning Clinical MRI I
Fundamentals of MRI / Instrumentation
MRI Safety and Screening
MRI Procedures I: Musculoskeletal
MRI Procedures II: Body Imaging
MRI Procedures III: Neuro Imaging
MRI Procedures IV: MRA & other Misc. cases
Advanced Clinical MRI – During this time student will solo and log the required 125 procedures across 7 clinical categories (minimum of 25 selected procedures times 3-5 repetitions each) as required for registry eligibility to become a certified MR tech.
Registry Review and Mock registry – provided in final month of program
