Position Summary:
Responsible for mammography examinations; providing compassionate patient care in a high volume, fast paced environment to patients of all ages; contributing to the efficient operation of the department, as well as ensuring quality and continuity of patient care.
Essential Functions:
Professional, positive and caring attitude throughout entire patient encounter.Work with and assist a wide range of individuals in a variety of situations.Listening to and resolving patient questions, comments and concerns.Perform requested exams according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards in an accurate, efficient and timely manner; as outlined in Mammography Department Policy & Procedural ManualDemonstrate competency and proficiency in:
Patient PositioningTechnique selectionCritique films before being sent to Radiologist
Communication Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their family members, team members, supervisors, managers and Radiologists.Establish and maintain good rapport and a positive attitude towards all other departments, patients and referring physicians.Maintain daily patients and procedures logPerform all related computer skills (Digital Mammo, PACS, RIS, Coding and CAD)Understand and adhere to department Policy & Procedure Manual.Maintain clean, organized and safe exam area and control room.Immediately notify department manager of any problems relating to safety, equipment or patients.Adhere to and uphold all HIPAA and New York State regulations regarding patient privacy as well as standards of ethics set forth by Windsong Radiology Group.All other temporary and/or permanent duties as assigned by Administrator or Manager.
Maintain and uphold all MQSA/ACR guidelinesHave and maintain ARRT and New York State licensing requirements including continuing education credits.Obtain advanced Mammography Certification within 2 years of first day of employment, or within 90 days of eligibility.Knowledge of applicable patient positioning and technique selections for modality.Excellent customer service skills with ability to professionally communicate orally and in the written form.Basic Lifting as required, not to exceed 35 pounds.Must be able to stand; sit; walk for extended periods of time with the ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays as well as ability to work additional hours as needed.
Work Environment:
Position is in a well-lighted, fast-paced, clean medical office environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the essential job functions such as stationary, mobility, operating machinery, convey and exchange information, identify, observe and /or positioning of patients.
Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines/equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line phones, photocopiers, fax systems, and calculators. Mammographic equipment (Digital), PACS and RIS, film laser processor, film copier.
