Position Summary:
Responsible for participating in all tasks and daily operations associated with transcription department as directed by supervisor and department manager.
 
Essential Functions:

Professional, positive and caring attitude throughout entire patient encounter.
Work with and assist a wide range of individuals in a variety of situations.
Listening to and resolving patient questions, comments and concerns.
Answering phone lines in a timely and professional manner.
Efficiently completing requests for Film and CD release.
Type all bone density reports, biopsy letters, and handling of all law firm/attorney requests.
Responsible for final stages of report generation including batching, sorting and collation with montage and/or graphs.
Tracking of all supplemental report requests from staff radiologists, patients and referring physicians, including but not limited to:

Requesting and obtaining films for comparison or for upcoming patient appointments
Arranging for and communication of film status for Radiologists
Confirming comparison completion by receipt of supplemental report

Perform computer skills with accuracy and efficiency.
Maintains fax server by scanning uploading all outside reports into the patients file.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with patients and their family members, team members, supervisors, managers and Radiologists.
Establish and maintain good rapport and a positive attitude towards all other departments, patients and referring physicians.
Maintain an organized and efficient work area.
Attends all department meetings to stay abreast of department goals and policies.
Adhere to and uphold all HIPAA and New York State regulations regarding patient privacy as well as standards of ethics set forth by Windsong Radiology Group.
Use Healthelink to search all scheduled appointments for patients.
Digitizing of all mammography films.
All other temporary and/or permanent duties as assigned by Administrator or Manager.

 
Qualifications:

2 year business degree with 1 year experience in inventory or purchasing; or High School diploma with 5 years’ experience in similar position.
Proficient spelling, keyboarding, computers, business and/or office practices knowledge.
Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
Excellent customer service skills with ability to professionally communicate orally and in the written form.
Basic lifting as required, not to exceed 25 pounds.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time with the ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays as well as ability to work additional hours as needed.

 
Work Environment:
Position is in a well-lighted, fast-paced, clean medical office environment.
 
Physical Requirements:
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the essential job functions such as stationary, mobility, operating machinery, convey and exchange information.
 
Equipment:
Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines/equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line phones, photocopiers, fax systems and calculators.
