Position Summary:
This position will oversee fundraising and relationship building in support of the mission of the Windsong Cares Foundation.
This position will be part of a team working under direct supervision to undertake aspects of marketing, grassroots fundraising, donor cultivation and management, special events, grant writing, and event sponsorships.
Essential Functions:
Plans, implements, and coordinates fundraising activities with a primary focus on cultivating relationships and understanding donors’ and sponsors’ objectives and their capacity to give.Develops and implements a strategic fundraising plan to meet donor and organizational goals.Completes accurate and timely tracking related to donor relations.Works in close collaboration with marketing, communications and Windsong team members to assist in the conception and implementation of fundraising events, appeals, content for website, family, private and corporate foundation cultivation and solicitation, corporate sponsorship solicitations and fulfillment, and grant writingCreates and manages a donor database and respective relationships including strategic follow up and personalized engagement strategies.Participates in the Board of Directors meetings as requiredManages grassroots fundraising efforts including direct mail (annual appeal), events, telemarketing, social media, donor accountability and other e-fundraising campaigns.Special event assistance, as needed.
1-2 years direct fundraising experience or equivalent transferrable skills preferred.Demonstrated experience prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and securing gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations required.Strong relationship building skills, professionalism and emotional intelligence required.Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, Saturday, and occasional Sundays as well as ability to work additional hours as needed.Experience with Salesforce or other client relationship management system a plus.Ability to process, organize, interpret, and present fundraising data.Exceptional written and oral communication skills and grant writing experience preferred.Experience with event planning a plus.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment with extensive cross-team collaboration.Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.Ability to maintain a high energy level and be comfortable managing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities.Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
Work Environment:
The majority of the work time is conducted in an office setting, with occasional meetings and events taking place outside of the office.Flexibility in schedule is required; occasional work in the evening and weekends for meetings or event participation may be required.Must possess access to reliable transportation with the ability to travel.Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs. preferred.Position is in a well-lighted, fast-paced, clean office environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the essential job functions such as stationary, mobility, operating machinery, convey and exchange information.
Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines/equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line phones, photocopiers, fax systems and calculators.
