“Although I have done many breast surgeries, I never forget that it’s the first time for my patients and their families.”
Dr. Peyser joined Windsong Breast Care as a board certified surgeon with an extensive medical background in surgical oncology. Dr. Peyser received his medical degree and completed his surgical residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. After medical school, Dr. Peyser completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and was a clinical instructor through the University at Buffalo School of Medicine.
Prior to joining Windsong Breast Care, he practiced surgical oncology in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia for ten years, and was part of a large, multi-specialty group at Hampton Roads Surgical Specialists in Newport News and Williamsburg. He was also a clinical professor and instructed students and residents in Surgical Oncology and General Surgery at Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Peyser was the recipient of several outstanding achievement awards from the Commission on Cancer, American College of Surgeons and was recognized by the Hampton Roads magazine as a Top Doc. He has also been recognized by Buffalo Spree as a 2019 and 2020 Top Doctor for Breast Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology and has written and presented numerous articles relative to health and cancer, organized the Breast Cancer Program at Riverside Regional Medical Center, proctored other surgeons in techniques of breast cancer surgery, and formed committees to align physicians and the hospital with the cancer needs of patients.
Dr. Peyser is continually researching and implementing new practices and is committed to providing the most progressive breast cancer treatment and care for his patients in a multi-modality fashion. He uses oncoplastic techniques (and received a Certificate of Performance in Oncoplastic Surgery from the NCBC in 2024), hidden scar lumpectomies and mastectomies, nipple sparing mastectomies, and nerve reinnervation for nipple sensation. Dr. Peyser is constantly exploring other advanced surgical techniques for breast surgery.
