Windsong’s experienced, subspecialized interventional radiologists use image guidance to provide minimally invasive varicose vein treatments and other procedures.

Varicose Vein Treatments

When blood flow is weakened due to damage or disease, veins can twist, bulge, and become visible. Left untreated, they can cause more serious issues, such as blood clots.

Windsong’s specialists provide various minimally invasive varicose vein treatments that are proven to improve the appearance of veins and let you love your legs again. We offer the following procedures that require little to no downtime:

  • Microphlebectomy
  • Radiofrequency ablation
  • Sclerotherapy
  • VenaSeal™ Closure System

Uterine Fibroid Embolization
for Fibroids Treatment

By age 50, between 25% and 40% of women in the U.S. experience uterine fibroids, which can cause heavy menstrual bleeding, pain, and other unpleasant symptoms. Our interventional radiologists offer minimally invasive uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) to women who want relief without major surgery typically used for fibroid treatment — hysterectomy (removing the uterus) and myomectomy (surgical fibroid removal).

During a UFE procedure to remove fibroids, an interventional radiologist uses image guidance and small incisions to block blood flow and cause fibroids to shrink. Symptoms should improve as the fibroids continue to get smaller in the following weeks and months.

Prostate Artery Embolization
for Enlarged Prostate

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate, is a common condition that impacts men. The signs of BPH can vary, but symptoms can include:

  • Frequent or urgent need to urinate
  • Increased urination at night
  • Blood in urine
  • Difficulty urinating or discomfort during urination

Prostate artery embolization (PAE) is an alternative to surgery that offers shorter recovery times and fewer complications than other treatments for enlarged prostate. Our radiologists use image guidance to access blood vessels on each side of the enlarged prostate gland, then use tiny round particles to block the blood flow to the prostate, which causes the prostate to shrink, relieving symptoms often within days.

Kyphoplasty Procedure for
Compression Fractures

Impacting approximately 1.5 million older adults in the U.S., compression fractures in the back cause pain, limit mobility, and limit your ability to complete everyday tasks.

Our expert team uses a variety of procedures to relieve your symptoms. Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive spinal compression fracture treatment that uses a tiny balloon to help repair the fracture. This procedure requires less downtime, less medication, and less risk of complications compared to surgery and other treatment options.

Safe, Effective, Minimally Invasive Treatments

Vascular and interventional radiologists at Windsong use image guidance to perform a variety of minimally invasive treatments for many conditions that once required surgery. Our expert radiologists use their subspecialized expertise to improve recovery time and outcomes for the following conditions:

Uterine Fibroids

Enlarged Prostate

Varicose Veins

Compression Fractures
