long-term side effect (… eh-FEKT)

A problem that is caused by cancer treatment and continues for months or years after
treatment ends. Some long-term side effects of cancer treatment include heart, lung, kidney, or
gastrointestinal tract problems; fatigue, pain, numbness, tingling, loss of feeling, or heat or cold
sensitivity in the hands or feet; hearing loss; cataracts; dry eyes; or dry mouth.
