Windsong hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) conference on Saturday, January 19th to discuss the new Breast Density Legislation that went into effect in New York State on January 1, 2013. According to the New York State Department of Health, the new law will expand the lay summary that is already required under the Federal Mammography Quality Standards Act to include information and disclosure on the density of the patient’s breast tissue.
Presenters for the conference that had approximately 110 physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and mammography and ultrasound technologists included: Christopher Comstock, MD (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center), Anna Chen, DO (Director of Women’s Imaging, Windsong), and Eve Li, MD (Women’s Imaging Radiologist, Windsong), and concluded with a question and answer panel that addressed clinical questions as well as billing questions.
