The American Cancer Society recently awarded Windsong Comprehensive Breast Care the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Outstanding Partner Award. The award recognizes the efforts of the program, a consortium of providers of care for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Windsong and CCS Oncology work closely with other supportive partners including Cancer Counseling Services, Center for Plastic Surgery, Kaleida Health, Orthosports Physical Therapy, WNY Nutrition, XCell Laboratories and AuNaturel to provide a full spectrum of resources and care for patients with breast disease. In addition, breast surgeons within the program participate in a weekly one hour medical conference to discuss newly diagnosed breast cancer cases with the Radiologist, Pathologist, Medical and Radiation Oncologist. This enables the team to determine appropriate staging and the best individualized plan for the patient.
