In celebration of October as Breast Health Awareness Month, Windsong in Williamsville, Amherst OB/GYN Associates, Cancer Services Program of Erie County, and WNY Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association are combining resources to offer free clinical breast exams and free mammograms for women over 40 without health insurance or are underinsured on Saturday, October 13th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM to screen for breast cancer.
Dr. Janet Sung, women’s imaging radiologist and founder of Windsong, technologists and Breast Patient Navigators will be performing the mammograms and meeting with the women after their mammogram to personally give them their findings and answer individual questions. Additionally, Clinical Breast Exams will be offered as a part of the screening by Dr. Marcelino D’Souza, MD of Amherst OB/GYN Associates and Patricia Hunt, Nurse Practitioner. The Cancer Services Program will ensure that any additional testing and treatment required will be provided at no cost to those who need it.
An additional source of outreach for this event is being undertaken by a group of dedicated attorneys from the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association (WBASNY) to help to promote this event. Chapter President Tammy Riddle, Esq., has been involved in every aspect of the planning and promotion of this event with Windsong and Erie County Cancer Services Program, as well as Amherst Ob/Gyn.
